BBW CVS Funding Development Services

We provide a range of advice, support, information and training to help voluntary and community groups explore the different funding opportunities available and make successful funding applications.

The CVS also acts as an independent and trusted adviser to a number of grant distributors, as well as administrating a number of small funding pots. One pot we are currently helping to administer is the Community First fund targeted at Pitsea North and Pitsea South East. This is covered at greater length in our projects section.

Advice and Support

Our Development Services Manager is able to give funding advice and support on funding opportunities and approaches to fund raising.

This includes:

• Identifying possible sources of funding.
• Developing and discussing funding strategies.
• Commenting on and helping with draft applications.
• Identifying and monitoring outcomes in a straightforward way.
• Exploring the best way of improving your organisation’s financial sustainability.
• Identifying other useful free funding search engines to assist you in your exploration for funding.

We offer this support either at a face-to-face meetings, by phone and/or by email. We have good relationships with local funders and we can also help you review applications that have been unsuccessful or help clarify any issues or problems that crop up.

We provide information about funding in the following ways

• The funding pages in our quarterly newsletter.
• Our Annual Funding Fayre and meet the funders’ event.

Training

We can also help you develop your organisation’s funding strategy and your fundraising skills through our ongoing workshop programme including:

• Preparing to fundraise.
• Do’s and Don’ts of Fundraising.
• Writing better funding applications.
• Business Planning.

These events are run in Partnership with Basildon Borough Council.

These courses are free to members. Non-members will be required to pay to attend these courses to cover our costs.
