Heart of Pitsea – Project Proposals

If you are a voluntary organisation, charity, CIC/CIO, statutory body or business and have a great project you would like to deliver in the Heart of Pitsea area, you can easily apply for some funding by applying to 2 project proposal schemes via their website.

They are rolling programmes so there are no deadlines for submissions – proposals can be made at any time.  All applicants require registration. You will then be provided with a unique password which will allow you to complete and save your proposal application in your own time and submit when you are ready.

The main source for funding ideas is the Project Proposal scheme to which you can apply by completing the online Project Proposal form.  There are no restrictions on the amount that can be applied for, but the average amount awarded is usually between £5K to £8K.  Decisions to progress submitted proposals rest exclusively with resident members of our Partnership Board. Decisions are made no longer than six weeks after the deadline and applicants are notified of the outcome.

The second awards stream is designed and administered exclusively by the Heart of Pitsea youth forum, Youth YOUnique Generation. This rolling programme called The Pitsea Pound Pot, can be applied for at any time for small-scale projects aimed at young people and children. £200 is the minimum amount that can be applied for and the maximum is £1500. All decisions to move submitted proposals forward for this pot are made by our youth forum who are all teenagers.

Any proposal for either scheme must align with Big Local outcomes. These are:

  • Communities will be better able to identify local needs and take action in response to them.
  • People will have increased skills and confidence, so that they continue to identify and respond to needs in the future.
  • The community will make a difference to the needs it prioritises.
  • People will feel that their area is an even better place to live.

In addition, projects must also address at least one of three themes: HealthSkills and Community.

It is expected that all proposals will provide added value by including some kind of contribution to the project – this can be in the form of part funding, matched funding, volunteer time, in-kind resources or generated income. It is expected that projects will benefit those who live, work or go to school within the Heart of Pitsea area, though it is appreciated that a project may also impact on areas outside the boundaries in neighbouring areas.

The Heart of Pitsea Partnership Board and Youth YOUnique Generation are keen to support projects that are innovative, unique and designed for the benefit of local people.

All applicants must read the Heart of Pitsea Big Local Plan, which clearly sets out what the organisation is trying to achieve. In addition, there are Project Proposal Guidance notes for both funding streams to help you fill in the online forms.
